Another year come to an end Soon a new one to begin Getting older sure is strange Try to embrace, not fear, change Another year come to an end People and places come and gone Find the strength to carry on It's so much harder to let go Of the things you can't control People and places come and gone Coming back, drifting away Like the oceans at the shorelines and the bay When there's nothing left to hide and you can't hold the pain inside We rise and fall just like the tide Always lessons to be learned From all the bridges that have burned Sometimes you can't avoid the fight Be sure to try and make things right Always lessons to be learned Coming back, drifting away Like the oceans at the shorelines and the bay When there's nothing left to hide and you can't hold the pain inside We rise and fall just like the tide When there's nothing left to hide and you can't hold the pain inside We rise and fall just like the tide We rise and fall just like the tide We rise and fall just like the tide

There is a light in every room A season where roses are in bloom A beautiful bride with her loving groom The sound of the clock at the strike of noon Illumination, power's on Brief separation, come and gone Not every house will be a home Sometimes your left upon your own Still, yesterday has no return policy Be on your way with a smile or apology Whenever you're in doubt, for better or worse, something will work out And soon I will be there Sweet smell of summer's in the air Deliver us from sadness and despair Remove the rain clouds from our eyes Relieve the burden of goodbyes 'Cause yesterday has no return policy Be on your way with a smile or apology Whenever you're in doubt, for better or worse, something will work out And soon I will be there Yeah, yesterday has no return policy Be on your way with a smile or apology Whenever you're in doubt, for better or worse, something will work out And soon I will be there Yeah, soon I will be there And soon I will be there

about

'Like The Tide / Yesterday Of No Return' is the third in a continuing series of two-song singles from Zach Jones. With this release, for the first time, Jones has expanded on the format by including a "Behind The Scenes" look at the creation of 'Like The Tide', as well as demo versions of both 'Like The Tide' and 'Yesterday Of No Return'.

With 'Like The Tide', Jones takes a pop/ Americana approach toward exploring how we tend to reflect on life's emotional ups and downs, successes and failures, and the entering and exiting of people and places from our lives at the closing of one year and the beginning of another. He compares these feelings with the phases of the tide and the waves crashing on the beach before rolling back into the ocean.

'Yesterday Of No Return' is a psychedelic pop piece with a touch of late 60's British flair and good old fashioned soul. It further explores themes of moving forward in time and the merits of living in the present, while aiming toward a positive future and not losing hope due to mistakes made in the past.

about

Zach Jones Los Angeles, California

With an encyclopedic knowledge of yesterday’s music and an awareness and appreciation for today’s, Jones combines the raw energy and style of the 1960’s British pop explosion, with the soulful expression of the R&B that poured from Motown & Stax. While paying tribute to the music he loves, yet expanding beyond tradition, Jones has created a fresh musical melting pot of modern rock, pop, and soul. ... more
